Thank you for considering the XpressDox API for use in your applications.

There are in fact two different tools for developers, the first is for those who want to embed just the bare XpressDox assembly engine in their applications. This is what we have termed the “API”. In particular, the API will more easily permit the storage of templates in areas other than the file system (such as in a database). The second tool is the Software Development Kit (“SDK”) which is in most ways more powerful than the API in that it permits the developer to take advantage of most of the functionality available to the Word add-in user: features such as the automatic interview created by XpressDox as well as all of the features available through the XpressDox configuration – e.g. data sources, standard data items, configurable folders for the saving of merged documents as well as data sets, etc.

Both the API and the SDK come with an initial 3-month evaluation license. If you need the evaluation license extended for any reason, please let us know. When you are ready to use the XpressDox API/SDK commercially we will send you a 12-month license key, which is renewable annually. Please contact us directly to receive your API/SDK license key for commercial use.
